Tied at one last night, the Canes found themselves down a man after Sebastian Aho took a questionable slashing call against Cody Glass (who wasn’t slashed by his own teammate for a change), and were looking at a faceoff deep in their defensive zone. Less than three minutes earlier, Shayne Gostisbehere had tied the game at one, and the Canes were hoping to maintain momentum after a first period that showed a much more competitive New Jersey Devils team than had shown up on Sunday.
