Does ESPN really hate the Hurricanes?
Every fanbase sees their team as loved by their fans but hated by the rest of the sporting community. No hardcore fan says that their team receives an average amount of penalties or gets just the right amount of nationally televised games. That’s just too boring.
Sports are full of conspiracies, from the NBA rigging the 1985 draft by freezing the Knicks’ envelope so that they’d get Patrick Ewing to UNLV getting paid to throw the 1991 Final Four semifinal game to Duke to the Penguins winning the 2005 NHL Draft Lottery to get Sidney Crosby and save the team from bankruptcy. (No, I’m not adding in the Kings/Lakers Game 6 from the 2002 NBA Playoffs. There’s no conspiracy there; that game was fixed.)
