It's starting to look like Jackson Blake's Chicago Wolves jersey will never get worn.
Jackson Blake is never leaving, is he? Look, I get the Bitterness Bowl between the Canes and the Seattle Francises (Franci?) didn’t seem like much of a struggle for the boys from Raleigh this Saturday, but even with the team coasting it was a single play from Blake that stood out.
With about four minutes left in the second period and the Canes holding onto a 1-0 lead, Seattle’s Chandler Stephenson goes to flip the puck out of the Kraken defensive zone in order to get some fresh players out on the ice. The flip isn’t deep enough though and Jaccob Slavin catches up to it, passing it behind him to Brent Burns who, seeing the Kraken attempting to change, immediately bangs it up to Blake who skates it back in the Canes offensive zone. Blake then lazers a pass to a charging Jack Drury that just gets under the skate of a sliding Will Borgen, and Drury redirects it past Kraken goalie Joey Daccord to give the Canes a 2-0 lead.
