Coming out of my Olympic coma for just a bit because we've actually got Canes news.
On Monday, the Hurricanes announced the signing of goaltender (and #GoodLongIslandBoy) Brandon Bussi to a three year contract extension worth $5.7 million, or an average annual value (AAV) of $1.9 million. On paper, this looks like a great deal for the Hurricanes. Getting a goaltender who is arguably* in Vezina trophy contention extended for under $2 million is a steal.
*I said "arguably", I didn't say you would win the argument.
