Some old friends are on the block.
The Canes dropped a heartbreaker last night to Detroit, 4-3 in overtime, as the Canes came back from a 3-0 deficit going into the third to tie the game at 3 and send it to overtime. Former Red Wing Shayne Gostisbehere scored the tying goal on a 2-man advantage power play, only to be cross-checked in front of his goal in overtime by Andrew Copp (no call), immediately setting up the overtime goal by Copp. A point is still a point, but to come back all that way, only to see it taken from you, is a real kick in the teeth (or a stick in the back), and even the Detroit commentary team knew they got away with one. When the hometown announcers are questioning a call that went their way, you know it was bad.
Gostisbehere and Sebastian Aho were charged with misconducts after the goal was scored, so you know they were hot. Or, I mean, maybe one of them coughed near a referee. That's a thing, you know - coughing for misconducts. Highly punishable offense. Don't ask me how I know.
Anyway, let's get rolling.
