Workrate Hockey - January 30, 2026 (kinda)

I’ve found myself not really able to write the last week or so, or do anything really. I apologize for the lack of newsletters - it’s been just this thought process of “why am I writing a stupid newsletter when people are getting murdered in the street by an empowered bunch of untrained mall cops?”

Alex Pretti should be alive. Renee Good should be alive. Silverio Villegas González should be alive. Keith Porter Jr. should be alive. All were murdered by ICE agents. Others have died in ICE custody. Our Constitution seems to be completely optional at this point, which is setting a precedent that should scare the hell out of you.

There’s a national shutdown being called for on Friday, January 30th. No work, no school, no shopping. I don’t make any money off of writing this (anyone who has donated is pretty much paying for the fees Ghost charges me every month, and I thank you for that) so this isn’t really a “job”, but I do work to put it together, so in an effort to participate in my tiny little way, there won’t be a newsletter for Friday the 30th - it will come out on Saturday the 31st. Most of you are probably reading this on the 30th, which is why I’m sending it out late on the 29th.

It’s a stupid little statement from a newsletter read by a handful of people, but it felt like something I needed to do.

Abolish ICE. See you on Saturday.
