The cuts are starting as the Canes begin to wrap up their preseason schedule. Also, they're not going to lose Cayden Primeau, are they?

Well, we're down from 48 to 41 at the time of this writing, with some of the early "obvious" cuts being made and sent down or, in the case of Skyler Brind'Amour and Ronan Seeley, being placed on waivers for the purpose of being sent down. There's still a lot of cuts to be made, as the Canes are sitting at 25 forwards, 12 defensemen, and four goalies, which is a bit much. Sent down with Brind'Amour and Seeley were short king Dominick Fensore, Dominik Badinka, Aleksi Heimosalmi, as well as goaltenders Amir Miftakhov and Ruslan Khazheyev. Coach Brind'Amour has a tendency to keep his camp roster decently large for longer than other teams, so we'll see how many get cut between today and the next exhibition game on Saturday.
