Everyone can breathe again. [EDIT: maybe not]

After being unable to score against the Florida Panthers team that won the Preseason Championship, getting hammered by the Washington Capitals at home, and barely squeezing one out over the (still) winless Philadelphia Flyers in overtime, the Canes have won four straight, averaging 5.5 goals a game and looking more like the team that lifted a Stanley Cup than a team... that, uh didn't. Sorry, analogy maker part of my brain isn't working right now.

What's been interesting is that without Seth Jarvis, the belief was that someone was going to have to step up and that ended up being... wait, Mark Jankowski? Jankowski has goals in his last four games, a pace unlike any Canes fourth liner since... Mark Jankowski scored six goals in his first seven games with the Canes after being acquired at the trade deadline from Nashville in 2025. He's at a 48 goal pace, which is entirely sustainable, I'm sure. [EDIT: he scored again last night. Maybe it is sustainable?]
