Workrate Hockey - July 14, 2026

Howdy folks. It's a hashtag content desert out there right now. We're not even talking Canes content - since Friday, there have been eight contract signings in the NHL. Eight. Three of them are two way deals (so they're probably going to be AHL guys), two entry level contracts, and three extensions - Colton Dach in Edmonton (2 years, $2.4mil), Braden Schneider for the Rangers (1 year, $5.5mil), and Peyton Krebs in Buffalo (4 years, $18mil). We've had one trade since July 2nd - Buffalo sending Tyler Kopff to Washington for Zac Funk, who upon further research does not reside at the Double Cross Ranch in Amarillo, Texas. We got nothin'.

So, I turn to you, loyal readers, to do the work for me. Friday's going to be a mailbag issue. We did one of these before and it didn't turn out too bad. So throw me whatever you want to hear answered, whether it be about CBA stuff, general thoughts about the Canes, the NHL, or random deep dives into Japanese professional wrestling or the Simpsons. I got to get something out there.
